A daily afternoon rainstorm couldn’t put a damper on the 2026 RugbyTown 7s.
The rain began to fall during the anthems ahead of the 2026 RugbyTown 7s Cup Final, and the effects of the weather were felt immediately. A slick ball kept the lid on the offense in the first half as the two teams went into the half tied at 7-7. Tsunami Barbarians settled into the conditions in the second half and poured in the points to defeat the R10 Selects 26-14 and win their first RugbyTown 7s Cup title and $10,000 grand prize
All-Army Sports defeated All-Coast Guard Rugby 50-0 to secure their fifth straight U.S. Armed Forces Championship and 12th title overall. All-Army Sports jumped all over All-Coast Guard Rugby early and cruised to victory. Even with the loss to All-Army Sports in the championship match, All-Coast Guard Rugby secured their best-ever finish at the RugbyTown 7s to put a cap on a successful tournament.
Casanovas beat 40-21 in the Third Place Final to secure their best-ever finish at the RugbyTown 7s. After starting off their tournament with a 26-14 loss to Belmont Shore, Casanovas rattled off three straight wins. If not for a last-second try by the R10 Selects in the Cup semifinal, Casanovas very well could’ve been competing in the Cup Final come Sunday evening.
The USA Falcons defeated NAV 7s 14-12 to secure the RugbyTown 7s Plate. Both USA Falcons and NAV 7s are not unfamiliar with Championship Sunday at the RugbyTown 7s. The experience was on display on Sunday as the two sides played a tight, entertaining match in the Plate Final.
In the Bowl bracket, it was Belmont Shore who left with some silverware in their first-ever RugbyTown 7s tournament. They defeated the Wild Dogs 31-19 in a match that was jam-packed full of action. To get there, they outlasted Heat Rugby, last year’s Cup champions, 19-12 to put a stamp on a competitive tournament.
The Denver 7s Selects defeated the NCR All-Americans 26-12 to win the Shield Final. Denver 7s Selects grabbed a big win against Apache 7s to punch their ticket to the match, and then played their best match of the weekend against the second-year All-American team to leave with some silverware.
